Every now and then a film comes along that captures the essence and joy of motorcycling, and the imagination of everyone who's ever dreamed of escaping on one. Overland film maker Austin Vince and author Lois Pryce know this, which is why they've conceived a film festival to celebrate making movies on the move.
The Adventure Travel Film Festival 2011 will showcase 12 films over the course of a weekend, giving visitors the chance to see the very best independent travel films, spanning over 70 years of adventuring.
"Over the last ten years we've been sent tons of fantastic travel films from all over the world by largely unknown film-makers," explains Austin. "The 'adventure travel' shows we saw on TV, although polished and professional, were nothing in comparison to the real-life dramas that were arriving in our letterbox."
